Finland organizes the World Floorball Championships in consecutive years

The men’s world championship will be contested in Tampere 2026 and the women’s world championship in Turku 2027.

The board of floorball’s international umbrella organization IFF has granted Finland the organizing rights for the 2026 and 2027 World Championships.

In 2026, the men’s World Cup and in 2027 the women’s World Cup will be played in Finland.

The men’s world championship will be fought in Tampere and the women’s in Turku.

– It’s really great that both of our applications were a complete success! It is a rare treat to be able to offer the Finnish sports community prestigious competitions for adults in consecutive years at home. This is where we start building an unprecedented floorball party, president of the Floorball Association Kaarina Vuori rejoices in the announcement.

The tentative dates for the men’s event are December 4-13, 2026, and for the women’s World Cup, December 3-12, 2027. Finland last hosted the men’s World Cup in 2021 and the women’s World Cup in 2015.

The Men’s World Championships will be played from the quarter-finals onwards in the Tampere arena. In the group stage, the Hakametsä Ice Hall and Hakametsä’s new ball sports hall or Kaup’s sports hall will be the halls. The shop will be played if Hakametsä’s new ball hall is not completed in time.

The focus of the Women’s World Championships is in Turkuhalli. Another game arena is the Kupittaa ball hall.
