The Finnish embassy in Moscow was attacked by masked persons

On Tuesday, unknown masked persons threw bricks in the grounds of the Finnish Embassy in Moscow.

A representative of the Finnish Embassy in Moscow met with representatives of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday and asked Russia to guarantee the safety of the embassy and its staff, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs tells .

Helsingin Sanomat was the first to report on the matter.

The reason for the meeting was the attack that took place on Tuesday, in which masked persons threw firecrackers at the premises of the Finnish embassy in Moscow. The act caused no damage to the staff.

At the meeting, Finland appealed to the Vienna Convention, according to which Russia should guarantee the safety of the mission’s staff.

Finland was represented at the meeting by the deputy head of the mission Maria Koskela.
