Finding, using and changing prophecies – this is how it works

In Last Epoch you specifically farm loot using the prophecies in the Circle of Fortune. You can find out how they work and what you need for them here on MeinMMO.

The Circle of Fate and the Merchants’ Guild are the two factions in Last Epoch. They offer players two different options to specifically get better equipment for their builds. The circle is particularly suitable for those who like to farm “on their own” and complete quests.

How do I join the Circle of Destiny? In the Circle of Fortune (CoF for short) you use the mechanics of prophecies to specifically farm certain types of items. There are two different ways to join the CoF. In any case, you need to reach the Upper District of Maj’Elka in Act 9 of the campaign.

  • You play the main story up to this point.
  • You take the detour through the dungeons in Last Epoch to open a shortcut to Chapter 9.
  • In Act 9 you meet the NPC Zerrick. After he has given you some information about the two factions, you can familiarize yourself with the factions. To join the CoF, go to the observatory.

This is how you use the prophecies

How do I use the prophecies? In the observatory you will find the NPC Galila, the faction trader, and the NPC Sandrak, who will explain the prophecies to you. There you also get the quest to complete a prophecy.

In the back area of the observatory you will find four telescopes. They represent specific types of drops:

  • North (Arctus Telescope): Armor
  • East (eostelescope): weapons
  • South (mesembriate telescope): rings, amulets
  • West (Dysistescope): Idols, Runes, Keys, Shards
  • At the telescopes you have the option to switch back and forth between item types, so you don’t have to run back and forth. The “currency” for the prophecies is favor, which you collect for the faction after joining the CoF.

You select a constellation on the telescope and then a prophecy that corresponds to an item drop, such as daggers, body armor or shards for crafting. Some prophecies are conditional, such as specific timelines or points in the campaign.

Once you have selected a prophecy, it will appear in your faction overview and is essentially a quest. By completing the quest you will receive the drop and the prophecy will be fulfilled.

What are these quests? As a quest, you are given the task of killing a specific type of enemy (such as “banished magicians”) in the open world, in an arena or in a specific dungeon. You may also have to kill a campaign boss to get the drop.

The enemies related to the prophecies are sometimes quite robust. If you have problems in combat, it could be due to certain stats:

Changing and influencing prophecies with lenses

Can I change the prophecies? You can change and influence the prophecies. To change it, roll a new constellation with favor. With the lenses that you buy in the faction shop, you influence the prophecies regarding the drop chance or the circumstances.

The lenses are divided into “Regional Lenses,” which increase drop chances at specific telescopes, and “Major Lenses,” which relate to more general opportunities and events. “Regional Lenses” require Rank 2 and cost 350 favor, “Larger Lenses” require different ranks and cost between 500 and 1,2500 favor.

    Possible examples of “regional lenses”:

  • 10% increased chance per rank of finding helmets
  • 15% increased chance per rank of finding large idols
  • 20% increased chance of finding bows per rank
  • Possible examples of “larger lenses”:

  • 100% reduced chance of Prophecies having Arena/Monolithic/Dungeon events
  • 100% reduced chance of Prophecies having campaign events
  • 90% higher cost of all prophecies, but offer double rewards upon completion
  • 15% increased chance per rank of finding unique items
  • 15% increased chance per rank of finding set items
  • In order to use the lenses, you must increase your rank in the circle by collecting and exchanging favor. The higher your rank in the CoF, the more lens slots you can use – there are a total of three lens slots and 10 ranks in the faction. Rank 10 duplicates the items from drops through prophecies.

Tip: You don’t always need to carry the lenses with you, you can simply store them in the storage box in the area where the telescopes are located and add them to your inventory when needed. The lenses do not disappear after use.

In addition to the equipment, the playing style is of course crucial in order to get through well. Here you will find the best builds for each class in an overview:

How do I collect favor? You gain favor primarily through completing quests and killing enemies. You can exchange the favor you have collected for prophecies or items at the faction dealer. These activities within the faction earn you reputation, which in turn increases your rank in the faction.

In addition to farming loot drops, blessings are a useful addition to your builds because: they give you permanent bonuses. You can find out how to get them and what blessings there are here: Last Epoch: List of all blessings and how to unlock them
