In Monster Hunter Wilds there is an optional quest called “Dareel’s research report”: For the quest, you should catch a trace tail lickey in the wind level. You reach the quest when you have completed the main story 1-4. But the lizard is not so easy to find if you don’t know where to search.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Find and defeat trace tails
You have to catch the trace tail lickey (English: Trackail Lizard) on the wind level. There are two locations here in particular, where you can most likely find the lizards.
The problem on the lizards: they are not particularly large and color the sand in which they appear. That makes the search a little more complicated than it should be.

However, note that the weather plays a role: As long as a sandstorm rages, you cannot find the trace tail lickey and you have to wait until the weather is clear and sunny again.
Tip: Pay attention to traces in the sand that looks like the footprint of a beast. These are caused by the tail of the lizard when it is upright.
