Find out your lung cancer risk with the finger test

Lung cancer can spread faster than other types of cancer, and about 40,000 people are diagnosed each year. Usually, the symptoms of lung cancer do not appear until the cells have spread throughout the body. However, potential patients can detect several early symptoms of the disease. Some of the common symptoms are shortness of breath, wheezing, and a persistent cough with blood or sputum. While most of the symptoms are respiratory-related, there is an early sign of lung cancer arising at your fingertips.

WHAT IS THE SYMPTOM OF CANCER ON THE FINGERS?

When you press your nails together, do you see a small diamond-shaped window of light?

If you can’t see this space, you may have finger clubbing when the tips of your fingers swell, which could be a sign of lung cancer.

This happens in stages, starting from the base of the softened nail. The skin next to the nail bed then shines, and then, when viewed from the side, the nails begin to curl more than usual.

Finally, fingers can become enlarged and swollen due to fluid buildup in the soft tissues of the fingers. The absence of this diamond-shaped space between the nails does not automatically mean that you have lung cancer, but there is a possibility that it is a symptom. Therefore, you can consult a doctor if you cannot see this gap in your fingers.
