Fincantieri contract for 2 wind power ships with Norwind Offshore

(Finance) – Fincantierithrough the subsidiary Vard, has signed a contract with the Norwegian Norwind Offshore for the design and construction of 2 Commissioning Service Operations Vessel (CSOV). The parties have also agreed on new options for two additional ships, a note explains. The Italian group had already signed an order today, again for the same customer, for the construction of 2 CSOVs in October 2021.

The first ship will be built and Braila, in Romaniato be assembled and delivered in Brattvaag, Norway, in the first quarter of 2024. The second will be built and delivered in Vung Tau, in Vietnamscheduled for delivery in the second quarter of 2025. Norwind Offshore is a newly established company that will offer specialized vessels for wind development and support operations.
