Financial markets, Italy-USA axis: what development opportunities?

Tax authorities accountants not acceptable I send flat rate compliance letters

(Finance) – An opportunity to illustrate to entrepreneurs and managers the unprecedented opportunities offered by the American capital market and the role that Italian accountants can play in this area: this is the aim of the event “Roadmap to Nasdaq, new Italy-USA synergies to support the international development of businesses” che took place today in Milan, promoted by the National Council of Accountants, in which, in addition to the top of the professional category, also attended, among others, representing NASDAQ, Jay Heller, head of capital Markets & IPO Execution and, Adam Kostyal Senior Vice President, Head of European Listings. Professionals from the capital markets and major investment banks took part in the initiative. From them came information on the US capital market and indications for accelerating and increasing the financing and development of Italian companies. During the initiative it was also announced that the National Council of Accountants and Nasdaq will shortly sign a memorandum of understanding thanks to which their collaboration on these issues will intensify.

“It is now evident – declared the president of the Italian accountants, Elbano de Nuccio – that in Italy as abroad, listing on the financial markets is not just a matter for large companies. Nasdaq is enormous in size, it is the second stock exchange by capitalization in the world and it certainly has the possibility of having a financial leverage effect for many companies that have both large and small business volumes”. For the number one in the category “in this scenario the accountant is the right person to contact first to consider the quotation as a strategic option for the development of the company and, then, to manage the listing and permanence of the company in the financial market”.

“The accountants – he continued – they are the best experts on the Italian entrepreneurial fabric and have the skills of a business economist in their background. This meeting between our institution and Nasdaq therefore has a strategic value for the profession and for businesses. Our National Council is ready to encourage the processes of opening of Italian companies to the financial markets, stimulating the formation of tools and operational guidelines in the finance sector, financial and non-financial reporting and other supports necessary to follow complex and articulated processes like a stock market listing.”

For the National Councilor of Accountants delegated to Corporate Law, David Moro, “Participation in the listing on the financial markets can certainly represent an important opportunity for companies that intend to raise funds to reinvest in the industrial project. Listing can be a growth driver for companies, because it generates visibility and the recognition of credibility that supervisory authorities attribute to companies upon admission to the financial market”. According to the representative of the accountants “the Nasdaq represents in this context an important reference especially for companies, including medium and small ones, which intend to undertake a path of internationalization and growth. To this end, it is up to the accountant who follows the company, in some cases even for several generations, to direct the company in this complex operation by weighing potential benefits and risks, advantages and disadvantages. I believe that the accountant has the appropriate skills to be able to evaluate with an overall vision the various financial, accounting, tax and corporate issues that affect the operation”.

“We operate in an increasingly international market, in a context in which relations between the productive, financial, economic and legal world are constantly growing. As the National Council we are committed to promoting and spreading the culture of the financial world and to encouraging the internationalization processes of our companies. Today’s event, the exchange of views and information initiated with Nasdaq, the work to shorten the distance between the Italian and American realities, is part of this strategy of ours”, commented the national advisor of accountants delegated to corporate finance , Antonio Repaci.
