What is the CAGGTUS? Behind the name “CAGGTUS” is not a conference of cactus growers, but a hearty gaming festival. The CAGGTUS will take place from April 14th to 16th, 2023 at the Leipzig Trade Fair.
At CAGGTUS you will experience everything that makes gaming culture so special. There’s Germany’s biggest LAN party, a huge entertainment area, a stream area where you can meet your favorite creators, and plenty of space to talk to like-minded gamers about your favorite hobby. The CAGGTUS is an event by the community for the community.
Why is the festival actually called CAGGTUS? The unusual name of the festival goes back to a running gag at the previous event “Dreamhack Leipzig”. Back then, countless cacti were placed at the LAN party. This became a cult and the prickly desert plants were used again and again at other events organized by the organizer. So it was only logical that the current big festival had to have something to do with the prickly plants. Incidentally, the GG in “CAGGTUS” stands for “Good Game”, i.e. the traditional farewell phrase of every gaming session.

The big CAGGTUS LAN party
The CAGGTUS offers a classic LAN party – currently the largest in Germany. That means you drag your PC or console to Leipzig and set up your setup in a place provided by the organizer. In addition to a chair and table, this also includes a power connection, a 100Mbit LAN connection, up to 100Mbit WLAN access and the option to borrow missing equipment.
Already on April 13th, i.e. one day before the main event, you can gamble with other participants and take part in tournaments. You can also freshen up in the showers between gaming sessions, eat in the gastro area and recharge your batteries in the relaxation areas.
However, participation in the LAN party is limited and there are different ticket categories:

The entertainment area
Away from the large LAN area, you can romp freely in the entertainment area. Among other things, there is a large expo where you can admire and test new hardware and software to your heart’s content. On top of that, there are plenty of activities and stands where you can gamble, try and have fun.
In the Freeplay Area you can play all kinds of games at numerous gaming stations – together or alone, there is something for every gamer. Those who prefer to watch the games can look forward to show matches and panels that take place on the big stage. This also includes the German Casemod Championship, where particularly cool PC cases are presented, as well as a cosplay competition.
The stream area
There will be a special place for streamers at CAGGTUS. Numerous content creators – including Mowky, Rumathra, BloodyNyuu and Vlesk – have been invited and will stream their programs live directly from the festival. There are even wildcard spots you can apply for here. You too can stream directly from CAGGTUS to your followers and let them participate in the festival.
How to take part in the CAGGTUS festival
To take part in CAGGTUS, you can secure tickets for the entertainment area, the LAN area or for trade visitors here. The CAGGTUS takes place from April 14th to 16th, 2023 and is located at the Leipzig Trade Fair. You must be at least 12 years old to visit the festival, for the LAN area you must be at least 18 years old.
What else is there? From February 15th you can still book all sorts of additional services for the LAN. These include a hearty breakfast and a flat rate for an endless flow of hot drinks.
On top of that, you can also choose from a selection of cool cacti and take home a real “CAGGTUS cactus” as a good luck charm and souvenir of the festival. But be careful, the number of plants is strictly limited.
