Two of the biggest comedy legends Germany’s have teamed up for a new Amazon series: After Bastian Pastewka and Anke Engelke last competed against each other in the 2nd season of LOL: Last One Laughing, they are now in front of the camera in a fictional format. Working title: Never Ever.

Never Ever promises to be a wild ride. The series is intended to feel like a coming-of-age story. However, the focus is not on young people actually growing up, but on two adult small townspeoplewho find themselves in a life crisis. They are played by Pastewka and Engelke.
Amazon describes the series in a recent press release as follows:
[Die Geschichte dreht sich] about destinies and coincidences, about revenge and forgiveness, about friendships and tantrums, about Illegal parkers and cat plastersand: the eternal longing for a happy ending.
On the occasion of the start of shooting, a picture was shared showing Pastewka and Engelke behind the scenes of the series.

Engelke says about the history of the project:
It’s been 27 years since our first collaboration and since then I really can’t imagine life without Bastian. After joint weekly show skits, encounters in Pastewka and the shows by Wolfgang & Anneliese, Bastian and I had to decide on the perfect next-level move: cheeky cookbook, crazy underwear collection or something completely different!? We chose option 3: a common series! I’m so excited!”
In addition to Pastewka and Engelke, the cast of the series includes Fritzi Haberlandt, Edin Hasanovic and Peter Jordan. Other roles will be taken on by Michael Wittenborn, Serkan Kaya, Caro Scrimali and Melodie Simina.
When will Never Ever start on Amazon Prime?
The 1st season of Never Ever comprises a total of eight episodes with a running time of 30 minutes each. Filming is currently taking place in Marburg and Cologne.
