If you didn’t know better, you would almost think that artist Jits Bakker is a real Utrechter. Instinctively that may have been the case, but his roots lie in De Bilt. One of his three studios had been located there for over fifty years and was known as ‘De Kooi’ studio. He developed his own style there, which son Tibo can describe like no other. “It’s graceful and lifelike, it’s the movement and the dynamism that made him world-renowned. Jits had such a unique style, you can find it almost everywhere in the world. Orlando, Frankfurt, Mexico City, South Africa, but also a lot in the south of Portugal and Spain.”
