This Thursday, Square Enix celebrated the 25th anniversary of the Final Fantasy license during a small showcase of about fifteen minutes. We were able to discover Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the sequel to the remake of Final Fantasy VII.
Twenty-five years is a very honorable age in the world of video games, and it is also the anniversary of the release date of Final Fantasy 7. It is this quarter century that Square Enix was celebrating this Thursday evening with his fans, with a little show of barely 15 minutes to present some future projects. And these fifteen minutes were well filled with many announcements around future releases in the Final Fantasy universe, including one of the most anticipated: Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second chapter of the trilogy started by Final Fantasy VII Remake. Cloud is back, therefore, for an adventure that will take him to the very edge of reality… The suspense is at its height while we summarize everything you need to know while waiting for its release.
You can find this very mysterious sequence right here:
It’s true that seeing Cloud and Sephiroth walking side by side can seem particularly strange, but when you focus on the voices in the background, it’s hard not to notice that everything seems… different. Dialogues straight out of a Christopher Nolan film if you want our opinion, we can hear different questions about Sephiroth’s intentions, questions from Tifa, and especially the questioning of the veracity of reality herself. So, after this 14 minute of disturbing information, rest up, take a breather and get ready for a second installment that will surprise you no matter what.
Between the announcement of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and the major projects unveiled yesterday, Square Enix seems to have plenty to take care of for a while. Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is therefore planned for thewinter 2023. The second part of this remake trilogy confirmed by Square Enix will be released only on Playstation 5, with a release planned a little later on PC. Of course, Square Enix retains its exclusivity agreements with Sony, but the game could well suffer the same fate as its predecessor FF VII Remake Intergrade and land later on PC. Something to delight lovers of keyboard-mouse.
