TikTok’s Chad filter distorts iconic Lord of the Rings scene
TikTok user titoxaxa took it upon himself to apply the popular Chad filter to the companions in Elrond’s council. When Frodo reveals Sauron’s ring of power, the reaction shot shows the important characters Elrond, Gimli, Legolas, Gandalf, Aragorn and Boromir one after the other. Boromir then gives his dubious speech about being able to use the ring for the interests of Gondor. But see for yourself:

The expression “Chad Facing” has been shaped by social media in recent years, where, according to GQ, a certain photo trend among men could be observed. In it, men, here stereotypically given the male first name “Chad”, show off their massive jaws while raising an eyebrow. The nose appears thinner through targeted inhalation and the cheeks are sucked in to form dimples. The result is the typical facial expression of a “Chad”, which now even exists as an exaggerated filter on TikTok.
