With Daredevil: Born Again, a new Daredevil series with Charlie Cox should start on Disney+ next year. Cox played that red devil from Hell’s Kitchen already in the Netflix series Marvel’s Daredevil. In the wake of Spider-Man: No Way Home, he was officially transferred to the Marvel Cinematic Universe despite the end of the Netflix series.
Last year, Cox appeared as Daredevil aka Matt Murdock in the MCU series She-Hulk: The Lawyer. The story of Daredevil: Born Again should follow on from this – and indeed with 18 episodes. Like the Hollywood Reporter, not even half of the episodes have been filmed yet. The reason: Production was stopped.
Marvel setback: New Daredevil series with Charlie Cox is being completely reworked
Many film and series projects are currently at a standstill due to the Hollywood strike. With Daredevil: Born Again, however, the problems go even further. Marvel boss Kevin Feige has been with this so far filmed material not satisfied and pulled the emergency brake. The entire writing staff including the directors were fired.
Now the entire production is to be restarted. Cox will remain in the project as the lead actor. However, the creative forces behind the scenes are being replaced. Not only that: Marvel is revising its entire approach to the series business and wants to do more from now on traditional practices set.

So far, the MCU series on Disney+ have had an entire season commissioned without a classic pilot phase. Also the Showrunner position was not occupied. This should change: “We’re trying to combine Marvel culture with traditional television culture”says Marvel’s streaming boss Brad Winderbaum.
What this actually looks like is currently unclear. However, many of the projects that have been announced in recent years are now likely to be thoroughly reviewed. The Daredevil material that was shot is still not discarded. According to the Hollywood Reporter, individual scenes also in the new version used in the series.
