Beautiful people will walk the red carpet of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival on Tuesday May 14. The last actfilm by Quentin Dupieux (Yannick) was chosen to open the 77th edition. A few weeks before the event, a first trailer for this new comedy was released. And suffice to say that it promises to be as surprising as it is enigmatic.
Quentin Dupieux definitely doesn’t do anything like everyone else since this first trailer reveals the main actors, Louis Garrel, Vincent Lindon, Raphaël Quenard, Manuel Guillot and Lea Seydoux argue over who is the main character in the film. The latter takes place in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere, “the second act”, while Florence wants to introduce her lover David to her father, while David seeks to get rid of her by pushing her into the arms of his friend Willie. But is that all? Because Quentin Dupieux has accustomed us to surprise, and this feature film still promises to be very enigmatic. Response in Cannes and in cinemas on May 14.
