A Croatian fighter jet crashed during a training flight, according to the Ministry of Defense. The pilots operating the plane, which was the Russian-made Mig-21 model, have been found alive after ejecting from the plane.
When the pilots were found, their condition was stable, but they will be taken to hospital for a check-up. The plane crashed in a wooded area near the town of Slatina in eastern Croatia.
The ministry does not state the cause of the crash.
Croatia, which is both a member of the EU and NATO, bought a number of used Rafale fighters from France last year to replace the old MiGs.
