FIFA President Infantino praised Trump and celebrated the inauguration Together

The relationship between Gianni Infantino and Donald Trump is warm. Infantino attended Trump’s inauguration when Trump became the 47th president of the United States.

47th President of the United States Donald Trump thanked the president of the International Football Association Gianni Infantino in his speech at the event before his inauguration on Sunday.

During Trump’s upcoming presidency, the United States is scheduled to host the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. The FIFA World Cup will be held in 2026 in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

– I am the president during the Olympics and the soccer World Cup. Gianni, thanks for the World Cup. And thanks for the Olympics everybody, we’re going to have a great time,” Trump said.

Just hours before taking the oath of office, Infantino posted a video on his social media channel in which he “wholeheartedly” thanked Trump for his support for the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup.

– I want to thank President Trump, with whom I have a great friendship. I assure him that together we will make America great again and at the same time the whole world, because soccer unites the world, Infantino said.

Actively supporting Trump and his election campaign, Infantino was invited to the White House during Trump’s first term as president in August 2018. Infantino also spoke at a dinner hosted by Trump at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland in January 2020.

In addition to Infantino, Trump’s inauguration was also attended by other sports figures, such as the NHL legend Wayne Gretzkya boxer Jake Paulfreestyler Conor McGregor and the CEO of the free fight organization UFC Dana White.
