FIFA 23 forgets some top stars in TOTY voting

The big TOTY event in FIFA 23 is coming up and the community has the opportunity to vote on the Team of the Year cast. But not everyone is satisfied with the composition of the candidates.

What is the TOTY anyway? “TOTY” stands for “Team of the Year” and is one of the biggest events of the year in Ultimate Team.

The event brings into play extremely upgraded cards from the best players of the past year. But the community determines who the best players are. Everyone can vote in the big TOTY voting and decide who of the 100 nominees ends up in Team of the Year.

But that’s exactly what some players have a problem with. The community is missing important top stars from the 100 candidates selected by EA.

Ronaldo and other top stars are missing from the community

While unsurprising in Ronaldo 2022’s performance, it’s still quite unfamiliar: Cristiano Ronaldo is missing from the 100 players nominated for the TOTY in FUT 23. It’s the first time since the TOTY was introduced in FUT that the Portuguese superstar hasn’t made it to the candidate field belongs.

  • “Breaking! Cristiano Ronaldo isn’t even a Team of the Year contender yet. Crazy to think that Ronaldo will never get a TOTY card again.”

    But Ronaldo fans could still be lucky. First leaks show the introduction of completely new TOTY cards. According to the leak (via Twitter), these are so-called TOTY icons. Maybe a way to get a Ronaldo card into the game after all?

    It remains to be seen whether there is anything to the leak.

    These players are missing from the community: But the FIFA community is not only surprised by Ronaldo’s absence. They particularly miss Real Madrid centre-backs David Alaba and Antonio Rudiger, who have put in strong performances over the past year.
