FIFA 23 finally brings full crossplay

Last minute The world stood up after Putins decision in

FIFA 23 will finally introduce proper crossplay. But the fans of the popular Pro Clubs mode are disappointed.

For years, FIFA players have wished for crossplay. And after the first tests had already taken place in FIFA 22, this dream is finally becoming a reality in FIFA 23. But not all FIFA fans are enthusiastic, because the popular Pro Clubs mode is left out.

This is crossplay: Many shooters like Fortnite or Warzone do it. You can easily play across consoles. This makes it possible for PC players to play together with PlayStation and Xbox owners. This will now also be possible in FIFA 23 – just not in all game modes.

How Crossplay works in FIFA 23: EA Sports has released a comprehensive blog post (via EA) on crossplay in FIFA 23. All systems that support crossplay are listed and shown which modes allow crossplay and whether they work with friends or in matchmaking.

This graphic is particularly revealing.

However, you won’t find one mode here: Pro Clubs.

Here you will find everything about the release of FIFA 23.

No Crossplay for Pro Clubs in FIFA 23 – The community is complaining

In the FIFA subreddit, Pummpy1 (via reddit) published an open letter to EA, complaining that there will be no crossplay for pro clubs in the latest FIFA offshoot and demanding an explanation from EA.

This is what the open letter says:

  • An explanation is required from EA as to why crossplay will be missing in Pro Clubs.
  • EA should also explain why Pro Clubs is ignored by EA.
  • The author accuses EA of wanting to let the mode die.
  • Is the lack of crossplay support due to FIFA? Does the developer have too little capacity?
  • At the end, the author explains that not everyone just wants to play FUT and that if EA does not respond, the community, including the Pro Clubs leagues, will be required to comment publicly.
  • What does EA say about this? So far, there has been no response from the FIFA developer regarding the issue. As soon as that changes, you will find out in this post.

This is what the community says about the letter: The open letter is very popular in the FIFA community and collects a lot of upvotes.

We have collected voices from the community for you:

  • Juil8991MC: “I agree. I was so looking forward to crossplay at pro clubs this year.”
  • LilBottomText17: “I was looking forward to Crossplay for Pro Clubs more than Crossplay for FUT.”
  • Jo0012: “I agree 100%. My friends are split between PS5 and Xbox Series and we’re all devastated.”
  • Sorpma: “In my opinion this is a sign that they will drop the mode. Without crossplay, it becomes even more difficult to find matches on some platforms. This will result in fewer players playing it, which will give EA an excuse to completely remove the mode anytime soon.”
  • In the comments, desperate players even suggest that EA should monetize Pro Clubs so that the mode can become more attractive again for the developer through more income:

  • blutgraetsche: “To this day I don’t understand why they don’t monetize the other game modes of FIFA. Especially pro clubs.”
  • DSMilne: “You could easily introduce microtransactions for stadiums, jerseys or annotated player names. People would spend money and that would pay for the improvements we all want.”
  • What do you say? Will you miss crossplay functionality for Pro Clubs in FIFA 23? Feel free to tell us in the comments.
