An SD politician in Bollnäs has stopped a Lucia train with reference to the fact that Lucia was not a woman. SD has also wanted to ban a story time held by two drag artists at a library in Trelleborg. This has triggered a cultural debate about how much politicians should invest in culture.

In Efter fem, Dick Erixon, editor-in-chief of the SD-financed online newspaper Samtiden, and Anders Lindberg, political editor-in-chief at Aftonbladet, meet in a fierce debate.
– Don’t let the left destroy all our culture, says Dick Erixon who believes that “the first line we have to draw is the tax-funded culture”.
Anders Lindberg believes that politicians should not get involved and that it is tradition for politicians to keep an arm’s length distance from culture.
– The politicians don’t choose Lucia – the young people do it themselves, he says.
