It was another Swedish World Cup fiasco. Tre Kronor is eliminated from the Ice Hockey World Cup after losing to Latvia in the quarter-finals. Sweden thus ends its longest medal drought since the 1930s.

With the score at 1-1, Latvia got a conversion and after a nice draw, Miks Indrasis pushed in 2-1.
Tre Kronor pressed for an equaliser, but failed to find the net. Instead, it was 3-1 with just over six minutes left, which was also the final score.
