FHM: New advice for covid vaccination

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

As of March 1, new recommendations regarding vaccines against covid-19 apply. Among other things, the recommendation for a top-up dose for healthy people between the ages of 18 and 49 is being dropped.

The recommendation of three doses of primary vaccination is also removed for people between 18 and 49 years of age. The new recommendations apply until February 29 next year.

For people between the ages of 50 and 79, and younger people who belong to any risk group, the recommendation for a top-up dose during the period applies. The vaccine should be taken before the next autumn and winter season and the recommendation applies regardless of the number of previous doses, according to the Public Health Agency.

For people between the ages of 50 and 64, at least nine months should have passed since the last dose. For people between 65 and 79 and for people in risk groups, at least six months applies.

For people aged 80 and over, as well as for people in special housing, two doses are recommended during the period. The recommendation applies regardless of the previous number of doses. At least six months should have passed between vaccine doses for this group.

According to the latest survey on immunity, at least 94 percent of those examined have antibodies. For children and young people, protection has mainly been built up through one or more covid-19 infections. In the elderly, there is protection through infection and vaccination, according to the Public Health Agency.
