Fewer suicides by the railway

The number of suicides and suicide attempts within the railway decreased from 90 to 71 in 2022 compared to the previous year, according to figures from the authority Trafikanalys.

In recent years, the number of suicide incidents within the railway has varied in number. In 2020, the number was 75, and in 2019 it was 94 during the year.

In rail transport overall – rail, tram and metro – there were 86 suicide incidents in 2022, a decrease of nine compared to 2021.
