Fewer serious accidents than feared in the snow storm

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

A woman was seriously injured when she collided head-on with a truck outside Jönköping. In Mariestad, a truck trailer with grain overturned on a person who escaped without serious injuries. On the E45 outside Vänersborg, several trucks ended up in a series collision.

Overall, however, the number of serious accidents as a result of the snowstorm has been fewer than feared according to the Swedish Transport Administration.

Local traffic has been canceled in many places, but the trains have for the most part been running without major problems.

– The trains usually run as they should. It is on some lines that train traffic has been canceled until 12 o’clock tomorrow. We will go out and check them during the morning to get started with that traffic, says Bengt Olsson.

However, the situation can change during the night and large amounts of snow are expected to fall in some places during the day as well. The Swedish Transport Administration recommends following the weather updates if you live in the orange warning area.

– If you are in doubt, it is always a good recommendation to try to stay at home and work from home if you can, says Bengt Olsson.
