Around 1.1 million people have so far voted early in the elections to municipalities, regions and the Riksdag, which will be held on Sunday 11 September, according to statistics from the Electoral Authority, which show early votes up to and including 4 September.

The most early votes were cast on Monday last week, with almost 142,000 votes, compared to Sunday when early voting was the lowest at just under 42,000 votes, according to the statistics.

This year’s figures show fewer people have voted early in this year’s election compared to the same time in 2018, when 1.2 million people had cast early ballots on Sunday with a week to go before the Sept. 9 election.
