The government will significantly reduce the financial contribution to municipalities from 2026. In Amersfoort this involves 24 million euros in cuts. Savings will be made on youth care, playground equipment and the number of councilors, among other things, while a number of taxes will increase. The municipal council still has to approve the proposal.
