Fewer cars are scrapped in Sweden, reports SR Ekot. This is partly explained by increased economic uncertainty.
– You may not choose to buy a new car, but instead maintain the car you already have, says Andreas Frössberg, CEO of Sweden’s National Association of Car Recyclers.
In 2022, there were a total of eight percent fewer passenger cars, light trucks and light buses that were scrapped with a scrapping certificate compared to the previous year, according to the Swedish Transport Agency’s statistics.
