An operation was carried out against the FETO structure in Azerbaijan. In the statement made by the Ministry of Interior of Azerbaijan, it was reported that 5 people, including the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Democracy and Welfare Party Gubad İbadoğlu, were detained within the scope of the investigation carried out against the FETO organization.
The statement said, “According to the information received from the Ministry of Interior, Turkey conducted an operation against people connected to FETO in Azerbaijan. One of the 5 detained people testified that they had connections with Gubad İbadoğlu. Based on this statement, İbadoğlu’s office was searched, important documents related to the case were found and he was detained. The investigation is currently ongoing.” it was said.
Other detainees were found to be making FETO propaganda for a long time in FETO’s education and training centers and enabling young people to join the organization.
It was stated that the financial statements of the organization, documents reflecting the action plans, radical religious documents spreading FETO ideas, computers, electronic memory devices, bank cards, large amounts of counterfeit money and firearms were seized during searches conducted at FETO offices, printing houses, training centers, dormitory center and the addresses of the detainees.
