Although it is not entirely clear that Falun will win the World Cup 2027, campaign leader Sara Tigerström Monfelt hopes that it will work out.
– We believe and hope that they will decide to award the Falun organizer, she says.
The 2015 World Ski Championships were a success on both the audience and medal fronts. A total of 350,000 people visited Lugnet during the championship weeks and there were seven individual medals and silver in the relays in the cross-country tracks.
Now it is likely that in five years’ time it will be time for another World Cup in Falun. In that case, it would be the fifth in the scheme.
The decision will be made by FIS in Milan on Wednesday evening. This will be broadcast live and shown on a large screen on Stora torget.
