Acclaimed for his opera “Written on skin” in 2012, the British composer George Benjamin returns to the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence with a new world creation which he directs himself. “Picture a day like this” – “Imagine a day like this” tells the story of a woman who loses her child and tries the impossible to bring him back to life. Carmen Lunsmann presents this one-act opera that looks like an initiatory fable.
