Fespaco, the largest pan-African film festival in French-speaking Africa, opened on Saturday February 25 in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. The theme of this 28th edition is “African cinema and culture of peace”, chosen to stick to current events, in a country which has experienced two military coups in 2022 and which continues to suffer the brunt violence terrorism. Several films have terrorism as their main subject. This is the case of one of the 15 films in the running for Yennenga’s Stallion: Sira by Apolline Traore.
