The Ferrari 296 GTS Hybrid, which was added to the product range after the Coupe launched last year, blends high-end performance with hard-top experience.
Ferrari, which has now reached the final stages in the preparations of the first SUV model in its history, introduces another quota reserved for 2022 today. The Ferrari 296 GTS, which is presented as the “Hard-top” version of the Coupe-formed 296 GTB, which was launched last year, is positioned in an important place for the history of the brand, as in the Coupe, with its engine. The model, which was recorded as a series where a six-cylinder engine was positioned for the first time after the model that Enzo Ferrari dedicated to his son Dino, can offer very serious performance values despite its compact structure. The main factor here is the hybrid system. The roof system, which is the biggest feature that distinguishes it from the Coupe, can open and bleed in 14 seconds, and users will be able to perform this operation at a speed of up to 45 km / h.

Ferrari 296 GTS Hybrid maintains performance despite weight disadvantage
The design dynamics of the 296 GTS are largely similar to those of the Coupe. The main difference in the model, which was developed on the same aluminum chassis, is clearly visible in the upper section with the openable flat. We can clearly see that there are differences in the aerodynamic panels at the rear, along with the roof, in the model, in which a design that brings to mind the system used by Ferrari in the SF90 Spider is positioned. On the engine side, the dynamics continue in the same way as the Coupe. The 3.0-liter twin-turbo powered V6 machine produces over 650 horsepower alone. Together with the 165 horsepower produced by the electric motor, which forms the other leg of the hybrid system, 819 horsepower (830 PS) and 740 Nm torque are reflected in the technical table.

With all the parts coming together, we see that the 296 GTS accelerates from 0 to 100 in 2.9 seconds. The maximum speed that the vehicle can reach is limited to 330 km/h. We did not want to miss the downforce in the data shared by Ferrari on the performance side. With the final touches, the vehicle’s exposure to a downforce of 360 kilograms at a speed of 240 km/h is certainly a remarkable figure. While stating that these figures are the same as the Coupe, let’s not pass without underlining the handicap of the GTS on the weight side. At this point, it is seen that the work done for the 296 GTS, which comes with a total dry weight of 1,540 kilograms, 70 kilograms heavier than the coupe version, has been successful in maintaining the performance despite the extra weight. Prices for the Ferrari 296 GTS, which can be purchased with the Assetto Fiorano package, which optionally brings equipment such as carbon body parts and adjustable suspension system, will be announced in the coming days.
