(Tiper Stock Exchange) – Italian railway networkthe lead company of the Infrastructure Pole of the FS Italiane Group, has awarded the works for the executive design and construction of the new line Ferrandina – Matera La Martella allICM company with designers Proger, Rocksoil and Engineering of the Territory. The contract has a value of 308 million euros, also financed with funds from the PNRR and the start of the works is expected by the end of the year and activation by 2026.
The new line will allow to connect the city of Matera to the national railway infrastructure through a 20 km single track electrified line. The Matera La Martella station will be served both by a direct connection with the Ferrandina station and by a connection to the north via the new link road connecting the Battipaglia – Potenza – Metaponto line.
The project will also allow to establish long-distance rail connections between Matera and the AV system and to enhance the offer of local public transport in the area in terms of frequency and quality.
There Ferrandina – Matera is a work entrusted to an Extraordinary Government Commissioner, in the person of Vera Fiorani, managing director and general manager of RFI.
