Félix Tshisekedi chaired this Saturday in Lubumbashi the closing ceremony of the round table on inter-community reconciliation. The work focused mainly on living together between the communities of the Kasaï and Katanga regions and on the causes and consequences of the migration of populations from one to the other. The participants recommend to the government the revival of the economy in the Kasai region in order to make it more attractive.

Hundreds of people took part in the closing of the inter-regional round table. Ministers, provincial governors, members of provincial assemblies, customary chiefs of Kasaï and Katanga came to listen to Félix Tshisekedi. The president wanted to be conciliatory:
“ I invite each of us to respect our neighbour, habits and customs and above all, to strictly respect the laws of the republic, to not disturb public order and to respect measures aimed at promoting security. , even road safety. »
He recalled that for some time, there has been a recourse in the country to a discourse encouraging community withdrawal. In a firmer tone, Felix Tshisekedi challenged various leaders.
” I intend to draw the attention of political leaders, religious leaders and other living forces of the nation to the role assigned to them in the construction of this unity often undermined by the ambitions of each other. May our languages become real vectors of unity and not the installation of hostile barriers. »
A message heard from both sides. Representatives of young Katangese and Kasaians made a commitment to work for peace and mutual respect. However, the President of the Republic has not announced any emergency measures on the revival of the economy in the Kasai region, although for some it is a priority.
