In Diablo 4, much of the game revolves around collecting loot and finding rare gear. Now a player on Reddit has discovered a buggy chest that provides endless loot – until your game crashes because of it.
What is this chest? Diablo 4 player “High-With-You” posted a video on the Diablo 4 subreddit of himself standing in front of a chest with uncountable amounts of loot at his feet.
The chest just wouldn’t empty according to the user’s description, and every time High-With-You opened the chest, he got numerous treasures again.
There was no need to leave the area or wait for some time. The Reddit user could just stand there and endlessly press the button to open the chest. In a comment he writes: “It feels wrong, but I couldn’t stop.”
When High-With-You discovered the chest, he was about to complete the quest “A Drenched Pact” in the Scosglen region when he discovered the surprisingly generous chest north of the quest objective. The player then took the time to open the chest countless times with a single mouse click and fill his bag with a wide variety of loot.
At some point, the Reddit user’s game crashed, he writes in the comments. There was probably too much loot on the floor shown on screen. At that point, however, he had already been able to successfully fill his warehouse.

Can you also have an infinite chest? In the comments, High-With-You reveals that he doesn’t know how the infinite chest came about. It is obviously a game bug that the Reddit user cannot specifically reproduce.
However, there are other players in the comments section of the post who also report finding an infinite chest in Diablo 4. However, this was still in beta, which is why they are surprised that the error can still occur (via Reddit).
Also, one user adds that it doesn’t depend on a specific chest or location. The error can therefore occur randomly with any object that gives you loot – but is extremely rare.
Can you be penalized for opening an infinite chest? Possibly yes, as infinite chest is a game bug. You would consciously take advantage of this if you opened the box over and over again. Also on Reddit, some players believe that Blizzard could take action against players who exploit the bug.
