Feeling of stress common before a heart attack | SVT News

Feeling increased stress the day before a heart attack is common. This is shown by a study by researchers at, among others, Lund University.

451 patients, 317 men and 134 women, had to answer how they felt the day before their heart attacks in a questionnaire.

The most common were: Stress (35.3 percent), anxiety (26.2), depression (21.1) and difficulty sleeping (20.0).

“Our research shows that half of all women and 30 percent of all men reported increased stress the day before they fell ill,” says Anneli Olsson, PhD student and first author of the study, which was published in the scientific journal European Heart Journal.
