(Finance) – “I understand the tendency to really appreciate good news, and there was some good news in some numbers, and I think we have to appreciate that. But I don’t see further consolidations (of rates, ed.) out of the question“. This was stated by the president of the Federal Reserve of Boston, Susan Collins, in an interview with CNBC. “I think the key point is that we really need to stay the course,” she added.
“We have to consider data holistically – said Collins – So there has been promising news, which is great. But I remain focused on analyzing the kind of comprehensive set of information we’re getting and evaluating in real time the right thing to do.”
Collins highlighted the progress made in stabilizing the labor market and tightening financial conditions, but said it was “important for us to be patient and recognize that we are far from declaring victory“.
