Fear of camping after murder in Katrineholm: “Worried”

Fear of camping after murder in Katrineholm Worried

Published: Just now

A man in his 20s has been found dead at a campsite in Katrineholm.

The concern is great among the holidaymakers who are in the area.

– I think it is very unpleasant, says Susanne, 61

A large area around the campsite in Katrineholm is still cordoned off. No one enters or leaves without showing their ID card and anxious guests are waiting to go home.

– It is clear that you are worried. There are many who stand and queue at the barrier, says Josefine, 36, who lives at the campsite.

– But I understand that they have to do it. They need to have control over everyone so no one leaves.

The man, who is in his 20s, was found seriously injured at 03.45 last night. According to information to Aftonbladet, he has been stabbed several times with a knife-like object.

“Heard life last night”

Shortly afterwards, he was taken to hospital by ambulance, but his life could not be saved.

– My mother heard life last night and reacted to the fact that it is a campsite and that it should really be quiet. Then we did not think about it anymore, says Josefine.

How is the atmosphere at the campsite now?

– Everyone is a little worried, but I do not think anyone is running loose here. There are many who walk past the police and look and wonder what happened. I have a brother who says we should lock all the doors and just let the police in, she says.

In the family’s motorhome where mother Susanne is sitting, the atmosphere has been depressed during the day.

– I’ve talked a lot about this today. I think it was very uncomfortable. My daughter worked this morning in Ica nearby and she said “what luck that it was not yesterday that I might have found him”, says Susanne.

– Everyone is worried and goes and thinks about what happened. I think a lot about the victim. It’s so tragic for the guy.

Photography and ID check

After several hours of queuing at the police checkpoint, the family was finally allowed to leave the camping area.

– My husband was down and talked to the police before and they said they were waiting for a dog to track. Now we are on our way home after photography and ID check.

No person has yet been arrested for the suspected murder.
