UTRECHT – FC Utrecht has sold Denso Kasius to Bologna FC. The 19-year-old wing defender played on a rental basis at FC Volendam and is now making the switch to Serie A with immediate effect.

Kasius still had a contract with FC Utrecht until mid-2024. He did not yet make his debut in the main force with the Utrecht team. In Italy, he signs with Bologna until the summer of 2026. It is said that FC Utrecht would receive around three million euros for the wing defender.

Kasius switched from ADO Den Haag to FC Utrecht in the summer of 2018, where the right back started in the Under 17 team. The youth international was then part of the Under 19 squad in the Domstad, before being added to the Jong FC Utrecht selection. He played 7 matches with the Utrecht U23 team in the Keuken Kampioen Division, before making the move to FC Volendam on a rental basis during the winter break of the previous season.

He played 37 matches for the North Holland team in one year. He scored six goals and provided four assists.

Zuidam satisfied with deal

FC Utrecht technical director Jordy Zuidam has also responded to the transfer. “He has been loaned to FC Volendam to develop further, with the aim of returning as a player of our first team. Although we would have liked to see Denso return to Utrecht after this season, this is another important deal for the financial position of the club, said Zuidam on the FC Utrecht website.
