Branderhorst has been under contract with FC Utrecht since last summer. He was brought in as the first goalkeeper. Because Vasilis Barkas returned to the Utrechters at the end of August, Branderhorst had to settle for a place on the bench. In total, Branderhorst kept seven matches for FC Utrecht last season.
