FC Utrecht looking for answers: ‘We still have to find out how this can always happen’

FC Utrecht looking for answers We still have to find

UTRECHT – After two victories in a row, the leak still did not appear for FC Utrecht. It lost in Almelo to low-flying Heracles 1-0. After a very mediocre first half, a goal in the second company seemed a matter of time for the team of coach René Hake. Yet FC Utrecht got the lid on their nose eight minutes before the end.

Kaj Sierhuis destroyed all hopes of FC Utrecht in the 82nd minute, when he shot in an unmissable opportunity. FC Utrecht had been dangerous, among other things, with a shot at the intersection of Djevencio van der Kust.

“This is very painful,” Hake said. “We didn’t get a chance in the first half. You have to act well and quickly to play out under the pressure. That didn’t work out.” FC Utrecht started well in the second half with several great chances in a row. “But then it ebbed away and Heracles also became dangerous. Fabian (de Keijzer) kept us going.”

Quinten Timber was pretty done with it after the game. “Let’s keep it short please,” the midfielder said immediately after the game in the mixed zone. “We really need to figure out how this can happen every time.”

Ramselaar: contract extension or not?

Bart Ramselaar also has other concerns on his mind. His contract expires after this season. FC Utrecht has an option on the midfielder until April 1. “I have not heard anything yet, but it is entirely up to FC Utrecht. I have nothing to say about it”, responds the player who mainly indicates that he wants to play. “I was able to get away from the winter, but they wouldn’t let me go, so I assume they will eventually lift the option.”

FC Utrecht remains seventh in the Eredivisie with 35 points from 22 matches.
