FC Utrecht in the final of the play-offs
FC Utrecht won the play-off final five times. This happened in 2007 and 2019 against Vitesse, in 2010 against Roda JC, in 2013 against FC Twente and in 2017 against AZ. That final was the most spectacular. After a 3-0 defeat in Alkmaar, FC Utrecht won in Galgenwaard stadium with the same figures. Sébastien Haller missed a penalty just before the end, requiring extra time. There was no scoring. In the penalty shootout, Nacer Barazite scored the decisive penalty.
