In the 2018/2019 season, Advocaat worked as head coach at FC Utrecht. He was then appointed as the replacement for the fired Jean-Paul de Jong. Lawyer did not do that without merit. He managed to reach European football with FC Utrecht via the play-offs. Then Kruys was one of Advocaat’s assistants.
