The basis of the smart technology was developed more than ten years ago together with TNO and applied in the stadium of ADO Den Haag. Now it is being further developed in terms of quality and user-friendliness. The pilot is part of ‘Our Football Is Van Everyone’, the plan of the government, KNVB, Eredivisie and Kitchen Champion Division to tackle racism and discrimination in football. The project was set up after the racist treatment at the end of 2019 by FC Den Bosch supporters of former Excelsior player Ahmad Mendes Moreira. At the time it turned out to be impossible to punish all perpetrators in Den Bosch due to a lack of evidence, because it was difficult to determine who had shouted punishable things.
