“That would be a very good move,” says former FC Utrecht goalkeeper Jan Willem van Ede. Van Ede was the goalkeeper coach of the Dutch women for many years and is now assistant coach and goalkeeper coach of the Irish women’s team, under former Orange national coach Vera Pauw. “If there is one sport that is growing, it is women’s football. A lot has happened in recent years. The start of the Eredivisie in 2007 has led to the successes of women’s football in the Netherlands.”
