Toni Lindberg will not continue as head coach of Veikkausliiga team FC Lahti. The club announced on Thursday on their website that he relieved Lindberg of his position. The 38-year-old Lindberg became the team’s head coach in the middle of last season.

The current season has started in a low mood for the Lahti team, as the team has played 12 matches, of which they have won only one. It is currently ranked 11th in the standings.

– Many thanks to “Limpu” for his tireless work for the club. Jumping from assistant coach to head coach is never easy, but “Limppu” succeeded in this task last season excellently. Unfortunately, the same flight did not continue this season and our journey together ends this term, FC Lahti board chairman Mika Halttunen said in a press release.

The club has not yet announced who will be Lindberg’s successor.

FC Lahti is the third team to fire a coach this season. Earlier this season, HJK had to leave Ferran Sibila and AC Oulu’s coaching trio Rauno Ojanen, Tuomas Silvennoinen and Mikko Viitsalo. AC Oulu said on Thursday that the team’s new head coach is Konstantinos Bratsos.
