Milla Punsar, one of the key players of the Espoo team, broke down in tears after the match.
Ilves and FC Honga’s season in the National Football League ended in the worst possible way.
Falling into First was a tough place for Honga For Milla Punsarwho returned to the ranks of the Espoo team from the Bundesliga in July. When Honka started the season, he announced that his goal was the championship.
– We did everything we could. We scored those two goals and after that we’ll see how things go elsewhere. Then we lost, Punsar teared up in an interview with Ruuttu.
Last night’s sleep was scarce.
– The hurt is still strong. Hard to believe because Honga’s place is in the league and nowhere else. Quite an inadequate feeling at the moment, when he has given his all. A really disappointed and sad atmosphere, Punsar told .
– Fortunately, the spirit of the team did not falter at any point. The players have remained very close. We faced these challenges together.
Changing the coach was the right solution
The team was influenced, among other things, by player changes, with which many key players changed scenery. Punsar, 27, returned to the ranks of the Espoo team to help the young team.
Last-minute changes were made to the coaching, when the head coach was promoted to the last two rounds Abdi Mohamed. According to the club, the coaching team’s changes were aimed at game clarity.
In Punsar’s opinion, despite everything, this was the right solution.
– With the change, we got a new look.
The level of the national league, the age of the players, the number of teams and the budget have been talked about throughout the season. Punsar is also concerned about the situation in Finnish women’s football. He proclaims the importance of sponsors and partners.
– Yes, Finland is lagging a bit behind. Quite a lot of burnouts would be avoided if the players could focus only on sports. Thus, we would also get more adult players.
Punsar’s further plans are still open at this stage. The current contract in Honga also covers next season.
– I would also like to play in Finland in the future, but only time will tell.
