The next big update for FC 24 is available for download. It is all about the European Football Championship, which starts next week in Germany. The highlight of the update is a European Championship mode, but also 7 other important changes for all modes.
What kind of update is this? The update is called “Festival of Football”. EA announces in the published pitch notes (via ea.com) that with the update they are inviting everyone to get excited about the upcoming European Championship.
The highlight in this regard is the new “UEFA EURO 2024 game mode”, which is playable now. In this new mode, the following options are available to you:

EM Update brings 7 more important changes
1st Change: New live event in Ultimate Team starts on June 7th
The 7th season has started in Ultimate Team, which, like the update, is also called “Football Festival”. The season pass includes more players than ever before. All cards that you can earn are part of a new live event.
The Path to Glory event starts on Friday, June 7th in Ultimate Team. Dynamic cards await you here that can be upgraded over time. The upgrades depend on the real performance of the player nations in the following international tournaments:

2nd Change: New dynamic icon and hero versions in Ultimate Team
In addition to the special versions of the normal cards, there are also new live versions of the Icons and Heroes. EA has dubbed these cards “Greats of the Game”. They too can improve their rating or other skills through the performances of their national teams during UEFA Euro 2024 and Copa América.

3. Change: New system for rental cards in Ultimate Team
You can get new loan cards for the period up to the end of Season 7 (July 18). You cannot use these new cards for a specific number of games, as usual, but you receive them for a certain period of time. The period is the same for all players around the world. Your loan cards therefore have a timer, and when this timer has expired, your loan card will no longer be available.
You will receive the first new rental cards when you log into Ultimate Team during the Road to Glory event. You will then receive a limited-time Road to Glory rental card.
4th change: New cold goal celebration from shooting star Cole Palmer
You can now use the famous “I’m ice cold” goal celebration that Chelsea star Cole Palmer often performed after scoring a goal this season.
Initially, you can only perform the celebration with Palmer himself. In Ultimate Team, however, it is also part of the new season pass and can be unlocked by you at level 20.
5th Change: New Special Move – Double Touch Lane Change
This trick is a mixture of the reverse Elastico and the La Croqueta. After our first test attempts, the skill move could have the advantage of being more explosive in the initial movement. In addition, the change in direction is not quite as drastic as with the other two tricks.

The skill can be performed by all 4-star skillers as follows: Hold L2+ Right Stick (90 degrees to the direction of movement) on the Playstation or LT+ Right Stick (90 degrees to the direction of movement) on the Xbox.
6th change: New game faces for 27 players
Shortly after the start of the Football Festival live event, a number of new player faces should also be added. This probably applies mainly to professionals from the Premier League. EA has already revealed 4 prominent examples. You can see the most famous one here:
7th Change: Double XP for Clubs players
The next few weeks could also be worthwhile for players who want to get started in the online club mode. In clubs, you create your own pro and start your own club or join an existing club. Online, you can then compete with your friends or other players against real opponents, move up leagues or win trophies.
For each game you complete, you get experience points depending on your performance, which are now doubled. With experience points you reach new levels and can upgrade your pro skills.
