The odds were right. It was Kristofer Greczula with the Queen-scented contribution “Believe Me” which took the first final place in the Melodifestival’s third competition.
– Mentally, I am so sickly happy and grateful. There is a lot of love and there is a lot going on, he says.
This year is the first time Greczula is in the Melodifestivalen. He has previously released several singles and in 2022 he released his debut album “Live and Let Live”
See him tell us about the feeling of moving on in the clip.
“Is so damn happy”
After him, the Swedish people sent Annika Wickihalder to the final, which is in Stockholm March 8.
– Thank you very much, says Annika Wickihalder in the “after -party” of the Melodifestival immediately after moving on.
The song “Life Again” is about feeling good again after feeling bad. And about finding back to life.
“I’m so damn happy that people understand this song,” she says.
Annika Wickihalder lined up in the Melodifestivalen last year with the song “Light” which reached from finals to the final, where she finished in sixth place.
Final choice for dolly style
Tonight’s finale choice place took the quartet Dolly Style home with her colorful “Yihaa”.
It is their fourth turn in Mello without going directly to the final. But the trip is not over yet.
Local celebrities had to shine
During the competition, which was in Västerås, several of the city’s local profiles were noticed.
Among other things, it was joked that Loreen, who grew up in the city, canceled his participation at short notice, pop artist Pandora made a guest play and the comedian and poddaren Johanna Nordström showed up.
Sanna Nielsen to Hall of Fame
Tonight’s biggest middle act was veteran Sanna Nielsen when she performed a medley of all her biggest hits. Including “Undo”, which she won the Melodifestivalen with 2014, “Empty Room” and “you dare, I dare”.
The performance was made in conjunction with her being included in the Melodifestival’s own Hall of Fame where significant profiles for the program are celebrated.
