Parts of the WoW community continue to have a lot of fun getting their newly created Earthens to the new maximum level of 80 as efficiently or strangely as possible. A father and son duo have now hit the proverbial nail in the coffin.
How did these Earthen reach level 80? You’ve probably already noticed that the Earthen have a racial bonus that’s actually not very exciting, which grants 200 percent additional experience for discovering a place – which makes it possible to bring the allied race into the new regions of The War Within quite efficiently without battles and quests.
A father and his son have now taken advantage of this situation to reach the maximum level just by exploring areas, and without even setting foot on the new continent of Khaz Algar (via Reddit). Only three creatures are said to have lost their lives on this journey. The duo’s trip lasted twelve hours and 54 minutes.

Group synchronization is the solution
How did the two of them do it? As good as the Earthen bonus is for getting as much experience as possible from discovering places, there is very little XP when Chromie time is no longer available and you are exploring the areas before The War Within with a character at level 71+. That is why most players switch to Khaz Algar at the latest then.
Not so for Competitive-Hall6922 and his son. After the two had leveled up to level 73 by exploring the Dragon Islands, the father came up with the idea of creating a test account for WoW and inviting a low-level third character into the group.
Thanks to the group synchronization introduced in patch 8.2.5, the trio was now able to use Chromie time again. The high-level Earthens were scaled down to level 71. That was enough to master the last level climbs to 80 fairly effectively without having to enter the regions of The War Within even once.

There you can also see the two level 80 Earthens posing with their item level 10 equipment. There you can also see the “X-53 Touring Rocket” from the “Recruit a Friend” campaign, which made exploring the zones together quite easy.
