Rockstar detailed what’s new in GTA 5’s online mode. Players receive 4 million GTA dollars as a gift.

Grand Theft Auto 5’s multiplayer mode, GTA Online, is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as a standalone game on March 15. Rockstar Games has detailed new features coming to “extended and enhanced” GTA Online, including a new Career Builder for new players and new types of racing.

New players will also learn about the game with GTA$4 million to spend on property, vehicles and weapons, and a newly designed Career Builder mode that provides introductory and training.

If you are not new to GTA Online, there are innovations to offer you. You’ll be able to bring your online characters to the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions through the Rockstar Games Social Club, and upgrade their existing vehicles at Los Santos Car Meet and Hao’s Special Works. Hao’s Special Works will unlock new vehicle upgrades, a new racing class and weekly time trials. Players can test newly modified (and faster) cars for free.

Rockstar said the transition from previous generation consoles to the new consoles includes all characters, GTA$, progression, stats, vehicles, properties, weapons, outfits, and player-created jobs. While players can move progress between console generations and platforms, Rockstar warns that GTA$ will only be ported when made on the same console brand (i.e. from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5).

GTA Online will be free to download on PlayStation 5 for the first three months after its March 15 launch. Physical versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online are coming to PS5 and Xbox Series X in April.
